Granny's Busy Day Cake
I woke up this morning and the first thing to pop into my head (besides the oddly Christmas music which I have no idea where that came from) "I want to bake" I also knew I didn't want to do anything too fussy. So I pulled out my Granny's old hand written notebook of recipes and flipped to my favorite. Busy Day Cake. I got everything set out and then I got to thinking, Why do people think that baking or even cooking is so hard? It's one of the easiest things, but it's knowing how to do it that matters. It's sort of like gardening, I can garden till I'm blue in the face outside and have a lush jungle but you come into my house and everything looks like it's at death's door. It takes practice and above all patience. First step in baking or cooking is the easiest, Clean! If your counters are clean and the sink is empty, that makes for a big help in feeling in the mood.
